Home for the Holidays

This Holiday Season - Open Your Home to Foster a Shelter Animal!
Rawlins Rochelle Animal Shelter - 2711 E Murray Street

This holiday season, do you have room in your heart and home to give a furry friend some extra love? We’re inviting the community to consider fostering or fostering-to-adopt one of our dogs or cats. Fostering allows our animals to experience the warmth of a home environment during the holidays, while giving our dedicated staff the opportunity to spend time with their families.

We provide everything your guest needs – you just bring the love! Currently, we have 15 dogs, 1 kitten and 9 adult cats at the shelter waiting for foster care or adoption.

If fostering isn’t an option, but you’d still like to spread holiday cheer, we’d love your support in another way! Bring in treats to fill the stockings of our shelter pups and kitties. Larger items such as big toys, treats, blankets, or other gifts that don’t fit in stockings will be wrapped and placed under our tree for the animals to enjoy. This year we are in special need of treats, XL flat crate beds, toys, L+XL Kuranda elevated dogs begs, and small flat cat beds. Your kindness means the world to us and our shelter animals. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any support you can provide this holiday season.

Light Up The Season!

The City of Rawlins compiles an annual holiday map and photo album for homes and businesses to share their outdoor holiday displays.

Want to add an address? You can also submit photos, but they are not required. Submission must be received by Monday, December 2nd to be published on the map, which will be released on Thursday, December 5th.

Shop downtown businesses each week from November 29th to December 19th. Receipts from all businesses in Downtown Rawlins (2nd to 6th; Front to Pine) are eligible. Shop Downtown, Win Big Main Street Money is provided by RNB State Bank.

Bring your receipts to ticket locations to receive tickets each week!

To Play:

Shop downtown businesses each week from November 29th to December 19th.
Receipts must be exchanged for tickets by Thursday at 5pm following the week purchases were made.
Tickets are only good for one week.
- Shop Friday, Nov. 29th to Thursday, Dec. 5th to be eligible to win $150 in Main Street Money - drawing at 4 pm on Friday, Dec. 6th.
- Shop Friday, Dec. 6th to Thursday, Dec. 12th to be eligible to win $300 in Main Street Money - drawing at 4 pm on Friday, Dec. 113th.
- Shop Friday Dec. 13th to Thursday, Dec. 19th to be eligible to win $550 in Main Street Money - drawing at 4 pm on Friday, Dec 20th.
Receipts can be brought to ticket locations during their normal business hours, which will be posted soon.
Each receipt will be worth one ticket for the drawings.
Receive double tickets for shopping on Saturdays, Sundays, and Blue Plaid Friday (Black Friday/Nov. 29th).

Drawings will take place at 4 p.m. on each Friday at RNB State Bank, 220 5th Street. Do not need to be present to win. Winners will be notified via phone call. Main Street Money can be picked up at RNB State Bank during normal business hours.

Holiday Parade

5th Street from Pine to Cedar, Cedar from 5th to 4th, and 4th down to the Depot

Immediately after the parade, the community is invited to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, and enjoy treats at the Depot.

Registration forms are available online at www.rawlinswy.gov (you can also click "Registration Form" below) or printed copies are available at the Rec Center. Drop them off at the Rec Center or email them to nhowell@rawlinswy.gov Entry forms must be received by Monday, December 16 at 3 pm. Certificates will be given for Best Nonprofit, Best Business and Best Individual.

The parade is brought to you by the City of Rawlins, HF Sinclair, Rawlins DDA/Main Street, and Parade Participants.

This workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to be part of the festivities without the usual pressure—just bring your creative spirit and a lighthearted attitude!
